I’m proud to serve as governor of the state bank of Puntland. I gave all my efforts to Puntland’s state bank on how the bank can do its utmost to contribute to the sound development of the Puntland economy.

The bank of Puntland is working to restructure the bank from a fiscal agent into a world class financial institution. Hence, Bank’s operations digitized. This, in turn, enabled us to achieve our strategic goals and execute our mandates more efficiently such as complete digital banking transactions, complete treasury system, live regional branch transaction settlements, integration with the Ministry of Finance’s FMIS system and security compliance and risk management.

As a state bank, the Bank of Puntland Initiated a process of creating and reviewing relevant acts, procedures, regulations and policies. Currently, amended the Puntland state bank constitutive statute while other policies are in pipeline included Puntland state bank financial Institution law, anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism act and amendment of HR policy.

State bank of Puntland is the first Somali state bank that has digitized its entire Banking operation by building a web-based, end-to-end, multi-region banking software along with Salary Distribution capability.
